'`'`'`' Johnson Family Missions '`'`'`' '`'`'`'`' November 2006 '`'`'`'`' Hi !fname: The day finally came - after a week of stress and 24 hours of labor, Declan Patrick McMahon was born on November 3rd! - 7 pounds, 10 ounces. Congratulations to our daughter Heidi, and our son-in-law, Andrew McMahon. (Both of which by the way are YWAMers having done their training a couple of years ago.) You can see pictures of Declan at our web site: http://www.johnsonfamilymissions.org It is was hard for us not to be there for the birth of our first grandchild, but we are excited to see him over the Christmas Holidays. We will be in Rockford for about a month, arriving the first week in December. Our training is going well, and our visa application is in Fiji now being processed. Please pray that the process goes smoothly and we obtain a long term (1 - 3 years) visa. We will leave for Fiji early in January. We don't know how long we will be there, except that we trust God's leading. Our best guess at this point is that we may be there until Hanna graduates from high school and determines what she will want to do from there. While in Fiji, besides contributing to the project you can learn about at our website - and the article referred to below talks about, we have a heart for mercy ministries as Fiji is very poor. Curt is also going to study the language Hindi. Half of Fiji are Indians. We have a heart to see them saved, discipled and sent to India to preach the gospel. Perhaps after Hanna is on her way to college, or whatever the next chapter in her life is, we may end up going to India long term. The most recent YWAM quarterly magazine had an article regarding the developments in Fiji we have been telling you about. http://www.ywam.org/articles/article.asp?AID=377 What is exciting is that God is moving BIG time, but there is no staff that I know of that is working on this project, just the visionaries both in Fiji and YWAM that have pointed the way. It is fun to see how the Lord is leading us to Fiji to support this project that the Lord has had His hand on for many years!!! Our budget for the next 4 months is $8880.00 We already have $3,545.00 in our fund, which means we will need to raise most of the balance before we leave for Fiji. Please read this note from the accounting department from our base: "To donate to a missionary or a fund please 1) make checks payable to "YWAM". 2) Please write their name on a separate piece of paper or sticky note as follows "for the support of ...(full name of missionary) in ...(city & country)" For U.S. citizens this is very important as the IRS will not consider it as a donation to our non profit organization if the person's name is on the check & thereby the gift will not be considered tax deductible. 3) Mail check to: YWAM PO Box 61700 Honolulu, HI 96839 Try to get checks to us by the 24th or the previous Friday if the 24th is on a weekend. Any check received after the 24th will be processed on the 1st of the following month. We will mail you a receipt once the check has been processed. Thank you for your support! By making a commitment monthly we know that you will think and pray for us on a regular basis! "Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." We need and want many partners whose hearts will be yoked with ours! The amount isn't as crucial as knowing you are with us on this journey. #2. One time gifts. We will need significant one time gifts in the various outreaches the Lord leads us on. Please consider each outreach and pray if the Lord would have you participate. Our next outreach is FIJI. Our budget for our Missions work in 2006: $12,400 - 3 month YWAM missions School and 2 month Outreach. The plan the Lord gave us is that Curt's business would take care of the Johnson's personal living expenses, and we were to raise support for our Missionary Work. Please pray about linking arms with us for 2006! Make your tax deductible gift out to: YWAM - Honolulu 2707 Hipawai Pl. Honolulu, HI 96822 Attn: Curt and Kay Johnson Family Missions We have an intercessory monthly email for our giving partners. This will be confidential and we will share the nitty gritty prayer requests and what we are battling on a monthly basis to fulfill the destiny set before us. Please let us know personally if you would like to be included in our "fellowship of 30." http://www.johnsonfamilymissions.org/david.htm
