'`'`'`'`' Johnson Family Missions '`'`'`'`' '`'`'`'`' April 2007 '`'`'`'`'`'`' Hi !fname: He is Risen! We trust you received our newsletter via the mail man! If not, be sure to visit our web site and sign up with your snail mail address! Here is another article with some of the history and explanation of what God is planning for Fiji! http://www.uofnkona.edu/index.cfm?fuseaction=control.main§ionID=94 For some recent photos and a complete update on our journey - visit our web site: http://www.johnsonfamilymissions.org '`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`' Vehicle Report: We ran into a problem with the customs here. As you probably know there was a coup in December and the military is still running the country. Although we (IWT - our non-profit organization here in Fiji) have a letter stating we are exempt from import taxes, the military will not release 2 vehicles IWT purchased from New Zealand and had shipped here. They are demanding the tax of $17,000.00 FJD be paid. Although IWT has tried the legal route, there is nothing left to do since the military is in charge. Fortunately this came to light BEFORE I sent any money to initiate the purchase of the vehicle we were going to buy and have shipped. God had a back up plan all along! A missionary couple on the other side of the island is returning to Canada and we found out that they are selling their vehicle. It is a Toyota dual cab 4WD pick up truck. It is a few years old, but in like new condition. It only has 24,000 kilometers on it (about 15k miles) and been serviced by the dealership since it was bought new by them. I saw the vehicle and said we would buy it. It is just about the same amount we were going to spend in purchasing and shipping the other vehicle from NZ. We will acquire the vehicle on April 14th, just before the couple leaves for Canada. We praise God for his provision. ALL the money came in for this purchase. A BIG thanks to all who contributed. Our next project is to raise about $2k for appliances and furniture for the attached 2 bedroom apartment at our house. We want to get it ready for IWT and YWAM missionaries coming through Fiji as we prepare for the coming harvest. Please pray about this need, and feel free to use the envelope we sent with the recent newsletter. Any check received after the 24th will be processed on the 1st of the following month. We will mail you a receipt once the check has been processed.  Thank you for your support!  Erin Urabe Accounting Staff"
