Our trip to the Philippines is going very well with the first two conferences now complete: Report on Philippines YWAM National Convention and IWT kick off preparations: There were about 300 YWAMers from all over the nation as they come together every 2 years. Seeing friends from Kona and Fiji was fun. Mark Anderson did most of the speaking and held several other smaller meetings for those involved in getting IWT launched for the Philippines. As usual, it is hard to describe the presence of the Lord with us and helping us. My heart literally burned the night of the official launch of the preparation phase for the tour. The Lord had prepared many hearts for this work. Some of the very TOP leadership in YWAM Philippines are laying down their work of years here to now join us in this endeavor. Let me share one "divine" appointment that let me know God was really at work in our midst. One of the main leaders here was particularly on my heart. I had prayed for him at the altar and knew his wife was battling cancer. I was hopeful that he might help us with IWT Philippines, but didn't know what was happening in his heart. The day after the conference before I was to fly out, I needed to get the mall. Cebu is a city of over a million people, with 2 or 3 major malls - much bigger than CherryVale Mall in Rockford. As I walked into the mall entrance, I ran right into this couple. He had time to talk for over an hour as he shared his story and committed to join the IWT ranks and play a major role in his region of this nation. I walked away rejoiceing and amazed at the goodness of God. The odds of us catching each other like that were literally more than a million to one. From there I flew to Davao where our school for training everyone will be based, and close to our first targeted city to launch the campaign in May of 2010. There is sooooo much work to be done. Please pray for Jose & Angelica, a newly married couple and friends of mine from the Kona school as they will play a key role in the next few months and years. We spoke to the ministarial group that will host the first days of the tour. It went well. This note is getting long - I'll report on the conference in Cotabato with Ron Gartner in another email.
