Kay & Heather have successfully completed their international certification to teach English as a second language. It was a VERY intense 6 weeks of training averaging about 12 hours a day/6 days a week of class room, homework, and ending with 2 weeks of teaching international students from the University of Hawaii. We believe this certification will open doors for us to countries closed to traditional missionaries. Kay & Heather will be part of the base launching its first ESL school this summer. They will be staff teachers for international students learning English as a second language. Holli is in Australia for her advanced leadership training. She will be there for a 6 month school. It was an emotional day of saying good bye! We are so proud of her, yet not knowing exactly when we will see her again simply is hard. It is a joy though knowing the eternal rewards of serving the Lord. The Lord continues to prepare our hearts for the mission field. China and India make up about 2 BILLION of the 3 BILLION people who have not heard the GOSPEL! We hear intense stories every week of the bondage, despair and darkness that those outside of the Gospel live in. But we also hear of the bona fide miracles from first hand accounts of those on the front lines. We can't wait to be a part of reaching those who have never heard. 85% of missionary work is done with people groups who already have been reached to one degree or another. The YWAM vision and work of reaching and sending youth from Fiji into Asia is awesome. Fiji made it through a very intense time of National Elections. 5 years ago at this time there was an attempted military coup. There is much racism, with the country greatly divided between Indians and Fijians. Fiji has elected a Fijian Primer Minister, and he is reaching out to the Indian politicians. Curt is looking forward to working with YWAM in setting up the IWT - Impact World Tour - that will be in 16 different locations around the Fiji Islands next year.
