'`'`'`'`' Johnson Family Missions '`'`'`'`' '`'`'`'`' July/August 2008 '`'`'`'`'`'`' Dear !fname: May you be greatly encouraged in the Lord today! Know that your labor and warfare makes a difference to the Kingdom. We can never lose!!! We'll update with a few quick points in a minute, but felt I just wanted to encourage you with a brief family update. Kay & I appreciate all those who love and support us, none more than our immediate family. They sacrifice also by not having Mom & Dad, Grandma & Grandpa, Son & Daughter-in-law with them in Rockford. Hanna has also chosen to have a giving attitude about our lives journey. Last year in Fiji was covered in much grace, but it was a hard year for her and she gave up a lot that a "normal" 11 year old girl would have; friends, school, her siblings, grandparents, a year of soccer at a critical time, etc. There was very little for her except for home schooling alone with mom and to help us with the IWT tour when she could. She was a TROOPER! As we are adjusting to New Zealand culture and continue work in Fiji and prepare for a huge IWT campaign in the Philippines and our other work here, God has chosen to bless Hanna for her sacrifice last year. We were able to put her in a private Christian School here as they are subsidized by the government. What a blessing! This was her first time in a formal school, and now would have to adjust not only to that change, but do it in a foreign culture, AND with no friends to start with - a much bigger challenge than her brother and sisters faced. The sacrifice is on-going as she, as well as Kay & I, were unable to come to Heather & Luke's wedding. (Thank You will never be enough for those who made that day so special for them. Kay & I often are in tears of joy and amazement over our extended "family" back in Rockford.) So - We just got back from our parent-teacher conferences and they love Hanna - I mean really think she is special! Her Bible teacher told us she has a "rare gift" of being able to assimilate her faith and even challenge him respectively in class. He loves it! Her English teacher was amazed at a story the class was assigned to re-write the story of the Good Samaritan. She said it was the "best in the class" and wondered if we had helped her. (We hadn't :-) She is playing up a year at her school in soccer. Even though she is in the 8th grade, she is playing with the Freshman, and leading the league in scoring after the first 5 weeks. Her coach was gone last week and the Varsity coach took their practice and asked Hanna to start practicing with the varsity girls also! Why I am sharing all this? (It is more than just a parent bragging on his kid.) I truly believe part of the reason God led us to this side of the world after the most intense year of spiritual warfare we had ever gone through was that he saw Hanna's heart through it all, and she is now in a season of reaping. She sowed obedience and sacrifice, she now is reaping blessing and favor. Be encouraged, if you are in a season of sacrifice, warfare, or just hard "gutting it out" obedience - God sees it all. He is not a hard task master. He not only is in control, but already is excited about the plans He has in store to bless you with an abundant harvest because of the seeds you are planting now! He will see you through. There is blessing on the other side for you also!!! '`'`'`'`''`'`'`'`''`'`'`'`''`'`'`'`''`'`'`'`''`'`'`'`' *We continue to work on follow up in Fiji. Curt will be heading back in October to teach young people and train children’s' workers. *We continue to enjoy our role as part of the Asia- Pacific IWT Leadership team. Along with some other work, Curt is doing some communications work for them. If you would like to be on that newsletter that he sends out for IWT New Zealand, let him know. *We continue to enjoy being a part of the IHOP here in Tauranga. God is up to some great things in these last days and we are privileged to labor in prayer with young people. *We will be moving onto the IWT DTS school campus at the end of the month as part of the staff - which really is being "Mom & Dad" to probably 20 young people as they go through 3 months of training. '`'`'`'`'`'`'`''`'`'`'`''`'`'`'`''`'`'`'`''`'`'`'`' We are in need of extra finances as we approach this fall with work both in Fiji and the Philippines. Please prayerfully consider partnering with us. http://www.johnsonfamilymissions.org/david.htm We need you!!! Warning: We are close to our partners and we know that they pay a price being yoked with us in advancing the Kingdom. We need you, but only if the Lord leads you - then the grace is there for the work and battles. '`'`'`'`'`'`'`''`'`'`'`''`'`'`'`''`'`'`'`''`'`'`'`' Grace & Peace to You!
