'`'`'`'`' Johnson Family Missions '`'`'`'`' '`'`'`'`' August 2007 '`'`'`'`'`'`' Bula !fname: It is impossible to really convey not only what it is like living in a developing country, but now understanding how vital it is to have prayer support for the work missionaries do. Thank you for your prayers and remembering us. Common sights as we live out our work for the Gospel here: *Families loaded down with firewood walking down the dirt roads back to their homes to cook supper. *Beautiful smiling faces with many, if not most of them missing teeth. *Young men playing rugby on almost every open field. *Chickens, goats, pigs wandering around the villages often in and out of homes. (One church I preached had chickens running through during the service :-) *Market stands full of fresh root crops, fruit, and live animals sold at the side of roads everywhere. Such is a glimpse of life in Fiji for the average person. (Most of the world class resorts are tucked far away from the REAL Fiji.) The Church of Fiji is uniting in a powerful way around the IWT tour. In towns are villages pastors are astounded at how the body of Christ is pulling together in historic ways to see the KING proclaimed. Who would have thought our experience in battles in Rockford for church unity the Lord would use years later, half way around the world in a poverty stricken country! The military dictator is growing more brazen in his control of the country sending it further into economic ruin and despair. This combination of events we are convinced will lead to the prophetically proclaimed move of the Holy Spirit coming to Fiji. As I was walking, praying and meditating last week I realized for the first time we were doing something that I truly believed was IMPOSSIBLE without God moving miraculously over the next few weeks. The constant pressure of warfare is the most severe we have ever lived through. The powers of darkness must be threatened about how this wave of revival is not only going to impact Fiji, but the rest of Asia and the end times harvest as we see young people discipled and sent. Between the cultural adjustments, feeling homesick for our family back in IL, the on-going attacks of the enemy, we can honestly say we are at peace knowing we are in God's will, and that He ALWAYS leads us in triumph. The next 2 months will be intense with our work load. PLEASE make a special effort to hold us up in prayer during this time.
