'`'`'`'`' Johnson Family Missions '`'`'`'`' '`'`'`'`' August 24, 2009 '`'`'`'`'`' Dear !fname: Today is another really hard-good day. Seems like those are happening in more frequency. In a few hours I'll be heading to the Philippines to help train up 20 some young Filipinos for the coming harvest. It is hard to leave Kay and Hanna. It is good to be obedient, and an honor to serve the Lord of the Harvest with you guys. It was 38 years ago that I encountered Jesus Christ. It was a a Lutheran Confirmation camp. A bunch of people must have given up their summer vacation to serve at this camp. It took that week for me to realize Jesus wasn't some just some historical figure, but was alive and wanted to know me. I didn't even say a traditional prayer. I simply said, "If what they are saying is true Jesus, I want to be your friend." Anyone that researches will tell you that 85% + of people that know Jesus, became Christians under the age of 18. This is why I love what we are doing. It only makes sense then to put the majority of the resources of the Kingdom into young people. We have the incredible privilege to assist young people to reach young people. Kay was reading last night and Is. 61 really hit her. The part that got me again was that the gospel would be preached to the poor. Please pray for us during this season that we stay faithful to the task. The Lord has made it very clear to us He is planning a HUGE harvest of poor Filipino young people in the near future that we get the privilege of participating in. Many of you responded to our request for assistance in getting some seed money into this school. Thank You. We were able to get the printing of the text books done for the school. I'll be bringing the rest of the donations with me to fuel these young people with tools (office equipment, computers, promotional material, etc.) that they will need to do their work. We will need much more in the days ahead, but these gifts will prime the pump as the word gets out in the Philippines and we can begin our fund raising efforts there. Like Kay & I, these young people, and all the 120+ team members we will be bringing in next year all raise their own support and come on their own effort. Your gift will allow them the resources to work much more effectively. http://www.ywamcampaigns.com/Group/Group.aspx?ID=1000032396 If you wanted to give, but didn't get the chance yet, the need is still on-going. This is a great time and place to plant seeds for the end times harvest. You can send gifts the regular channels through YWAM, or my folks are handling this request.
