Dear !fname: This is just a note to honor Kevin Darrough. Our love and prayers to his family and loved ones. Kevin went home to receive his reward. Below is a note I wanted to pass along from my friend Danny Lehmann. When Kay & I sold everything we had 3 1/2 years ago and with six suit cases headed to Honolulu on our missionary adventure, we felt so privileged to hook up with the Honolulu YWAM base. The entire base staff was wonderful. Danny toke the time to befriend us, and as we went through our training and prayed about the future, Kevin reached out to us. Kevin's time, love, and sincere interest in what the Lord was doing with the Johnson family was amazing. We were just a family going through DTS. His joy and posture as He fought the enemy of cancer was a testimony to all of how to trust God. One time in DTS intercession the Holy Spirit fell upon me to intercede for Kevin. The passion of Jesus was intense and rarely in my 38 years as a Christian have I sensed the Lord's zeal for a person, or His anger against the enemy's attack on someone He loves. Kevin was very special to the Father. So - Kevin - Kay & I just wanted to say Thank You. We grieve at losing you, but we also know that death is swallowed up in victory. Only eternity will show the lives that you touched. Heaven will have multitudes more through out eternity because of your life. Your fight - gaining 6 1/2 years more than the enemy wanted you to have, will produce a beautiful harvest for your King. We know you touched many lives - we were blessed to be one of them.
Grace & Peace,
Curt & Kay Johnson !remove Or you can send a letter to 704 Candlewick Dr. NE Poplar Grove, IL 61065
"Dear all, Earlier this evening Kevin Darrough went to be with the Lord after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Linda and I were privileged to be with him shortly before he passed away, read some Scripture, and prayed with him. He was suffering intensely the last few days but now we know he is enjoying the saint's everlasting rest. For those of you who don't know Kevin and his wife Kim they were students in the first Honolulu DTS along with Linda and I. They have been our dear friends, more like family, since pre-YWAM days and have remained so over the years. Kevin and Kim pioneered "Daybreak', an evangelistic ministry that toured Asia in the early 80's performing "Toymaker and Son" and other outreaches. They later pioneered in Metro Manila and then later in Delhi, India. For the last 12 years they have served at YWAM Honolulu leading Schools of Missions and Evangelism and have been instrumental in seeing many young missionaries released, both short and long term, in the Pacific and Asia. Kevin had a contagious love for Jesus, a heart for the lost (especially the unreached), and a unique sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Please pray for God's grace for Kim as she has been at Kevin's side in this battle for the last seven years. Danny and Linda Lehmann" |
