Hi !fname: How can we thank God for His goodness? At every turn He is there to lead and bless us. Curt has been in the Philippines the last month training 18 Filipinos that will become the staff for the coming IWT tour in 2010 and beyond for the nation. He is equipping them to do what he did in the Fiji Islands. Giving young people the tools they need to reach their generation and prepare for a harvest of hundreds of thousands of souls over the next few years is thrilling and sobering beyond words. It is such privilege to partner with you in this quest. A BIG thanks to those that were able to give extra in the last few weeks to get this project moving. We were able to undergird the school, buy 3 computers and office equipment, pay for publishing and editing content for the Philippine Campaigns, etc. You now have an inheritance in this nation!!! Here is a picture of our student interns, and I will quote from a few of them below the picture:
"There's lots of young people, and they all work - and play - hard! It reminds me why I love Filipinos so much. Sixteen of us are here for two months of training for Impact World Tour (IWT), after which we will go to Compostela Valley (an area of 11 municipalities) to prepare for the big evangelistic campaign happening next July. It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of this because we are expecting thousands of Filipinos to get saved! We have a full schedule of classes every morning and evening, work program (i.e. meal prep or other duties) many afternoons, plus many reading assignments. But this is what carries me: God's spirit is being poured out on the earth. Hundreds of thousands have already been saved in other countries through the ministry of IWT. God needs labourers to bring in the harvest! I believe God has led me to be a part of this - not because I am gifted, but because I am ready and available to do his will. I often look to God's promises, like this one: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10 PRAYER&ldots; We will need much prayer covering. We are doing something new and big to advance the Kingdom of God, and we know it will not come without opposition." "Now I am in Davao, where I joined Impact World tour (IWT) training last August 28. We have 2 months lecture phase and 9 months preparation for the huge evangelistic campaign coming to Compostela Valley - The Impact World Tour is unique. They use extreme sports, dances, skaters, etc., to present the Gospel publicly to this generation. Both young and old can come to this event. We know that the Gospel that we present is a powerful message - "So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it." Isaiah 55:11 And we will see and witness the work of GOD in this city- that GOD wants all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of Him (1 Tim 2:4). We are excited to see the young and old respond in this time. Salvation is now&ldots; Do you want to be a part?" "...And as the waters fill the sea, so the earth will be filled with people who know the Lord." Isaiah 11:9NLT Is it possible to have one third of the Philippine population reached with the Gospel? May be...It is written in the Holy Scriptures that with man, it is impossible. But with God all things are possible. A Training called Impact World Tour Evangelism School/ Neighborhood Evangelism Training School is now going on here in Davao City. I am one of the sixteen students. We have three staff. This Two Months School, with nine months of internship in the Compostela Valley of Mindanao, is part of the preparation for a Team who will hopefully participate in helping make Isaiah 11:9 happen in the Philippines. What was covered so far - Week One: Intimacy With God and Devotion To Him.'God should be our greatest recreation.''Intimacy fuels devotion.''Everyone is devoted to someone or something.' I hope that I will learn to enjoy the Lord more and more as I continue to walk with Him."
I could go on and on - but I just wanted to give you a sample of how awesome this group is. We are very humbled to be serving the training this caliber of young missionaries. We couldn't do it without you.
Heather is visiting Kay & Hanna in New Zealand right now. Kay is active in the House of Prayer and assisting the DTS (Discipleship Training School) our Asia-Pacific leadership team is running right now. This stretch has been harder for Kay & I than others, but the grace of God has been strong. One of my students quoted me today saying he really liked: "Life is far too short to live a normal life!" Thanks for the partnership we have in these last moments of human history.
Grace & Peace,
