Johnson Family Missions
Dear Friends and Family:
A few years ago Kay received a "prophetic" word (supernatural revelation from the Lord) from a guest speaker at one of the services at our home fellowship in Rockford. The word was that she would be a TEACHER! Kay found the word amusing at the time, having no desire to be in front of people, truth be told, even teaching her children at home in home schooling for years was not one of her favorite things to do.
These are a pictures of Kay teaching Korean students in the ESL (English as a Second Language) program. (And yes - Kay created the art work on the walls for the school.) She and Heather received their international certification this summer, and Kay is one of the lead trainers for the YWAMs (Youth With a Mission) Honolulu base inaugural school for international students.
Kay spends many hours of preparation for each hour of teaching the students. These young people are YWAM leaders from Korea wanting to learn better conversational English for all of their outreaches. We have had a lot of fun at home identifying the hundreds of "idioms" we use everyday in our conversations. Kay then teaches the "lingo" to the Korean students. Our daughter Hanna is a great conversationalist for a 10 year old and is a big help to the students in their practicing their English!
Curt, Kay, and Hanna have moved into one small room at the YWAM base for the duration of the year. We begin our formal training in September and look to move to Fiji in January 2007.
Holli is finishing her advanced training in Australia and feels called to do some mission work in Namibia, Africa.
Curt is back in Rockford mid-August through mid-September doing some preaching in the Rockford area.
Here is his preaching schedule so far:
Sunday morning, August 13th - Galena Assembly of God
Sunday morning, August 27 - Riverside Community Church in Loves Park, IL.
Friday Evening, September 8th - Killams Farm
Saturday Evenings, August 26th & September 2nd - Forest City Fellowship of Rockford, IL.
If you have any contacts or churches that you think might want Curt to speak, He still has these openings:
Wednesdays; August 23rd & 30th; September 6th & 13th
Sundays: August 27th - evening
September 10th - morning and evening
September 17th - morning.
Curt has a word for Rockford. He has sent letters to about a dozen fellowships. Please pray that he has favor and goes and speaks as the Lord would guide.
There is so much more to share, and we will in the coming months. We thank and value so much your thoughts and prayers that are supporting our journey.
We are asking that the Lord would give us a group of people (or couples/families) that would stand with us on a monthly basis. Although FCF will notify us of your giving, please also let us know. We have an intercessory monthly email for these special partners. This will be confidential and we will share the "nitty-gritty" prayer requests and the "deeper" spiritual warfare agreements we need to fulfill the destiny set before us. The amount of money you commit every month isnt as important to us as your heart felt desire to join us in spirit on our journey. (Click Here for more details.)
Please pray for us, look for our monthly enewsletter, and visit us here on a regular basis. We want and need you to be a part our journey.
Grace & Peace to You!
Curt & Kay
